About the Role Are you passionate about building mission-critical, high-quality software solutions using the latest technologies in a fast-paced environment? Goldman Sachs is hiring for its Compliance Engineering team in Hyderabad. This global team of 300+ engineers and scientists develops platforms and applications that safeguard the firm against regulatory and reputational risks. Your first project in 2025 will focus on deploying complex data pipelines and surveillance models to detect and prevent inappropriate trading activity. What You Will Do As part of the Compliance Engineering team, you will: • Collaborate with global stakeholders, users, and engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions • Learn from domain experts and work on challenging real-world problems • Use modern technologies such as Java, Spark, Hadoop, Flink, MapReduce, HBase, JSON, Protobuf, Presto, Elastic Search, Kafka, and Kubernetes • Design and build responsive user interfaces and large-scale big data applications • Contribute across the full software development lifecycle – from requirements and design to testing, deployment, and ongoing support • Innovate, experiment, and bring fresh ideas to the team • Work on a wide range of problems including: Designing and negotiating data contracts Capturing and analyzing data quality metrics Developing scalable data processing pipelines Building surveillance and detection models What We Look For The ideal candidate will have: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field • Strong expertise in Java and hands-on experience with databases and data manipulation • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), automated testing, and end-to-end solutions • Excellent communication skills – ability to express ideas clearly in meetings and documentation Preferred skills (added advantage): • Experience with large-scale distributed systems such as Hadoop/HBase and MapReduce • Strong data analysis skills using SQL, Spark SQL, Zeppelin, or Jupyter • Knowledge of API design and microservices • Familiarity with the financial industry, compliance, or risk management • Ability to collaborate effectively and influence stakeholders About Goldman Sachs Founded in 1869, Goldman Sachs is a leading global investment banking, securities, and investment management firm.
